What is yoga?
Yoga is the ultimate exercise and method of self improvement. With a proven record of at least 4000 years (possibly much longer), what makes it magical and different from our Western workouts is that yoga gives you true fitness, inside and outside. Some of the many benefits of yoga include: increased tone, strength and flexibility, weight loss, improved posture and breathing; a greater ability to cope with stress and a feeling of calm.
What are ashtanga yoga + vinyasa flow?
These are dynamic and physically demanding styles of yoga where movement is synchronised with the breath. In Ashtanga yoga there is a set series of poses whereas in Vinyasa flow the poses vary. In both cases poses are linked in a constant flow creating a detoxifying heat (be prepared to sweat!), stilling the mind, and creating a feeling of calm focus.
What is pilates?
Pilates is an exercise system designed to stretch, strengthen, lengthen, tone and balance the entire body. It improves your posture, releases stress and increases strength and flexibility. Pilates works the deeper muscles in a focused manner strengthening core postural muscles and developing correct body alignment. This stabilises the spine and supports the back.

If you are new to yoga or Pilates, then a triyoga beginners or foundation course is the ideal (but not the only) way to begin your practice. You will be alongside other beginners, discovering yoga in a safe and fun space. The practice builds week by week, providing a solid foundation and inspiring you for classes or a course at the next level.
The beginners courses usually run for 6 to 8 weeks. The small group foundation courses usually run for 4 weeks and are limited to a maximum of 10 students to ensure that you receive a high level of personal attention in developing your practice.

Can’t make the beginners/foundation course?
If beginners course times don’t work for your schedule, then Level 1, Open level, Yoga gently or Restorative classes are the best place to start. These classes are fine for beginners and the Yoga gently and Restorative classes in particular are at the gentler end of the triyoga spectrum so that beginners can integrate with ease.
Level 1 + open level classes
The time you spend at beginner level establishes the foundations of your practice. Many experienced students take Level 1 and Open level classes out of choice as working with the ‘fundamentals’ of yoga practice is always challenging. Take your time – practice and patience are essential. Challenge yourself, but never strain yourself.

Yoga mats are provided as are props such as bolsters, blocks and straps which some teachers use to assist students in postures.
Courses should be pre-booked. You can do this in person, by telephone, or here on the website.
For your first visit we suggest that you arrive at least ten minutes before the start time.
We recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing. Try not to attend practice with a full stomach (it takes 1 hour to digest a snack, and 3 hours for a full meal).
All of the centres have changing areas and showers (you can hire towels at reception).
