A fully accredited 6-month teacher training with Bridget Woods-Kramer at triyoga.

Embody and teach yoga with skill and creativity. Bridget offers an inspirational, educational programme that will enable you to find your unique voice as a teacher.

structure + content
The training consists of 28 tuition days delivered through 6 modules. These consist of 6 weekends, the first being 4 full days and the following running from Friday evening to Sunday evening. There will also be a final module which consists of a 9 day intensive and an assessment weekend.

The training will include the following areas of study

  • Asana, bandha, drishti
  • Pranayama
  • Philosophy
  • Anatomy
  • Meditation
  • Teaching methodology
  • Sequencing
  • Assisting (verbal and hands on)

On successful completion of the training, students will

  • know, and be able to apply, the Anusara Principles of Alignment
  • understand the pedagogy of yoga
  • have learnt to apply the art of observation and adjustment in asana
  • understand and be able to apply the art of sequencing
  • be confident in using Sanskrit for the level 1 sequence of postures
  • be able to confidently teach led classes based on level 1 and 2 postures, including basic meditation and pranayama techniques
  • understand, and be able to explain, the roots and philosophy of yoga, particularly the Sutras of Patanjali, Bhagavad Gita and non dualism
  • have developed good basic skills in business and marketing management
  • understand, and be able to explain, the chakras and subtle body anatomy

homework, assessments and graduation
Students will have home study and self practice to complete between each of the modules and there will be additional written and practical assessments:

  • 2 essays - history of yoga and philosophy
  • worksheets - asana, pranayama, meditation, anatomy, teaching methodology
  • teaching a class and adjusting students
  • written exam - alignment and teaching principles

In addition to completing all homework, written and practical assessments, in order to graduate students must attend a minimum of 90% of the course. Should a student miss more than this, then the student will be required to take catch-up modules, as agreed with the tutor. These will incur an additional charge.

The Bridget Woods-Kramer School of Yoga is accredited by Yoga Alliance USA and Yoga Alliance Professionals (UK). On successful completion of the training, students will be able to register with both the Yoga Alliance USA and Yoga Alliance Professionals (UK) as a 200 hour RYT (registered yoga teacher).

Certificates will be awarded on successful completion of the course, including the final assessment.

Friday 08th June - Sunday 10th June
Friday evening and 2 full days on Saturday + Sunday

9 day intensive:
Thursday 05th July - Friday 13th July

Friday 27th July - Sunday 29th July

Full day sessions will usually run 9.00am - 6.00pm. Friday evening sessions will run 7.30pm - 9.30pm.

All sessions will take place in triyoga's Soho studio apart from the first 2 days of Module 1 which will take place in triyoga's Camden studio.

Students should have a strong personal yoga practice and have been practicing regularly for a minimum of one year, a basic understanding of yoga philosophy, an open attitude and a willingness to learn.

Students should recognise that the course will be demanding, both at and between module weekends. Successful completion of the course will require significant effort, focus and dedication. In this respect, students should ensure that they have both the time and the personal support they need, to commit to the course fully.

Bridget Woods-Kramer began her yoga practices in India in 1975 and embarked on an intense program of study to become a senior teacher and teacher trainer. She has concentrated on teaching since 1988 and her style of dynamic Yoga has evolved from time spent teaching and studying with the many visiting Yoga masters at Yoga Works in Santa Monica, considered to be one of the USA's most authentic and ground-breaking schools.

Bridget is Anusara's UK representative and main certified Anusara® teacher having studied Anusara® Yoga since 1994 and is on the board of certification for Anusara® Yoga. Bridget travels all over the world giving yoga immersion workshops, teacher training's and in depth study courses. Anusara® Yoga is a uniquely integrated approach to Hatha Yoga in which the art of the human spirit is powerfully blended with the science of bio-mechanics. Anusara means 'Flowing with grace (going with the flow) following your heart'.

Andrew McGonigle originally trained to become a doctor but moved away from western medicine to pursue a career as a yoga teacher and massage therapist. Based in London, Andrew has been teaching Ashtanga yoga since 2009 and has recently developed a love for hot yoga. His current passion is using his wealth of experience as a doctor to teach anatomy and physiology on Yoga Teacher Training courses across London. Andrew's teachers include Hamish Henry, Paul Dallaghan, Eileen Gauthier and Kristin Campbell.

Ruth Westoby is Authorised Level Two in the Astanga lineage and holds a Masters' degree with Distinction in Indian Religions. She has practiced yoga for over 20 years and taught for more than 10 years. Ruth practices with her main teacher Hamish Hendry on a daily basis (whom she assists and occasionally covers for), studies with Richard Freeman whenever she can, and makes pilgrimmages to Mysore, India to work with Sharat Jois. Ruth teaches Astanga yoga and yoga philosophy courses on teacher training courses throughout London. As well as practising daily with Hamish Ruth studies Sanskrit, contributes to the magazine Pushpam - and hangs out with her gorgeous sons. Ruth says 'Practicing yoga makes me intensely happy. Indian philosophy fascinates me. Paying attention to each moment gives delight and freedom. In teaching I try to share these things that I love.'
