No! At triyoga, people of all ages practise, from kids to senior men + women. You cannot be too old to start or practise yoga. It can be taken up at any time of life. Yoga is an excellent way for seniors to enjoy the physical benefits, the social aspect of attending class, and the general sense of wellbeing yoga gives you. Whatever age you are, the best way to start yoga is with a Beginners Course. If this is not possible, you can attend the gentler classes ( Level 1 or Open Level classes ), where teachers can guide beginners through the fundamentals. There are also a number of Yoga Gently + Restorative classes as well as a weekly 'Never-Too-Late' yoga class, which is specifically for more senior people to learn + practise yoga together. Read more about the best way to begin yoga here . View yoga class schedule here .

No. People with every kind of different religious and atheist beliefs practice yoga. The physical and psychological benefits of yoga are real + aren’t dependant upon race, religion or gender. Nor do they depend on chanting Om - but it’s a nice thing to do. Your relationship with your practice is a personal + unique thing. Some people's yoga is a deeply spiritual practice. Whether you are honouring your God or Higher Power, honouring your body, getting fit or losing weight, de-stressing or just having fun, yoga is for everyone + brings all kinds of people together.

We provide all the equipment, including mats, you need for our classes at all triyoga centres. We regularly clean our mats. We do recommend that at some point you purchase a mat – people like having their own mat which they get used to practising on. We have several excellent mats available in the triyoga shop .

It depends on the nature of the injury. Both yoga and Pilates can be great for rehabilitation from injuries. If you have seen a GP or specialist, they will advise you. If you are uncertain, call the front desk and explain the situation, + they will guide you. You must tell the teacher before the class of any injuries so they can help you adjust your practice.
