Our yoga teacher training is recognised by The British Wheel of Yoga and Yoga Alliance® and comprises four areas of study: asana, pranayama, meditation, assisting and the art of teaching philosophy, Sanskrit and yogic life anatomy and physiology business skills what you will learn from this training: Whether you are taking the training to become a teacher or to deepen your practice, experience and knowledge the journey of the training is an amazing one of transformation. Your learning will cover many aspects including how to confidently and competently teach Level I asana classes, design and teach a 6 week beginners course, to take care of yourself/your students through modification of asanas to suit an individual’s body, sequencing and first aid risk assessment and understanding of the foundation of asana, anatomy and physiology. Continual study on a usually monthly basis with two leading teachers from different lineages – the foundation being the study and practice of health generating alignment principles directed by the bio-mechanics of movement. 2. Intimate learning with 1:16 ratio of students to teacher in the asana modules. 3. “Free to roam” - unlimited access to classes for £40 per month to all triyoga centres or half price classes – (that means if you’re coming to only two classes a week you’re only paying for one and not even at full price) 4. Free access to observe as many of the classes held at triyoga as a student desires in order to deepen learning of how to structure classes, make a class plan etc (there are some 150+ yoga classes each week) 5. Free access to assist as many classes a student desires to get “hands” on skills – including beginners’ courses 6. Learning therapeutic ways to work in asana to help structural issues 7. "Hands on adjustment” module led by leading osteopath/Thai yoga masseur so that the theory behind touch is informed from the root of professional bodywork 8. Philosophy content taught by leading international teacher Carlos Pomeda who received formal, traditional training in yoga during almost 18 years as a monk of the Sarasvati order studying and practicing under the guidance of Swami Muktananda and Gurumayi Chidvilasananda. During this time he learned the various systems of Indian Philosophy, immersed himself in the practice of yoga and became one of the senior teaching monks of the tradition—teaching meditation and philosophy to tens of thousands of students around the world. He combines this experience with an academic background that includes two Masters' degrees: one in Sanskrit and another in Religious Studies. 9. Each yoga teacher training course has two main asana teachers from purposely different schools of yoga so that students learn and experience from that diversity: asana philosophy anatomy business skills course length and structure The course is approximately 18 months with 276 contact hours over 14 weekends and finishes with a final assessment. • asana, pranayama, meditation, assisting and the art of teaching: • philosophy, Sanskrit and yogic life: • anatomy and physiology: • business skills: You are also required to attend 40 additional class hours for your own practice development, 10 hours observing and 12 hours assisting. There is also an element of written work and home study to be handed in after each module. Trainees receive discounts on classes at triyoga (unlimited classes for £40 per month or half price classes). Attending hours can be taken with any teachers in the UK or in the world approved by triyoga. teaching approach: We teach with two lead asana teachers, and one each for Philosophy & Meditation, Anatomy & Physiology and Business skills. Courses have a maximum of 32 trainees and the majority of asana sessions have two teachers providing an intimate ratio of 1:16 students for in-depth asana education. This ensures consistency in instruction and overall guidance.
