Following last week’s interview with Bathing Beauty founder Georgina Jones, this week she gives an insight into the hero products which can be found at triyoga.
Soothe Body Oil Infusion
This was the first product I formulated in a desperate bid to help with my son’s eczema. The oil was formulated to ease inflammation on large areas of skin, help his skin heal, moisturise the skin and protect it in the long-term.
What are the effective ingredients?
The oil contains Calendula Officinalis – a marigold that has long been known to have fantastic skin healing benefits. We grow our own Caldendula Officinalis in tune with the moon’s cycle as we find it increases our harvest yields and germination rates. It works brilliantly to boost skin healing.
Soothe Oil also contains Hypericum Perforatum aka. St John’s Wort Oil; most people would be familiar with this herb’s reputation as a natural alternative to anti-depressants. As well as its calming effect on the neurological system, it has an anti-inflammatory property which makes it fantastic for treating sore skin.
What else can you use it for?
The Soothe Oil works as an excellent aftersun because of its Lavender essential oil content and Hypercium. It is also incredibly soporific, so ideal for anyone who is struggling to sleep or experiencing anxiety.
Gauntlet Hand Salve
This super concentrated salve won a commendation at The FreeFrom Skincare awards in 2013. We created it to protect and heal hard-working hands, and it has spectacular results for customers suffering with contact dermatitis. It is very popular with gardeners, builders and nurses.
What are the effective ingredients?
The hand salve is a wonderfully nourishing blend of Fair trade Shea buttter, and organic Avocado oil, which penetrates the skin and enhances its natural barrier. Rosemary essential oil provides antiseptic properties, and infused calendula oil imparts fabulous skin healing qualities. The absence of water, not only means I do not have to add preservatives, but also increases the salves concentration. In cold weather, it keeps your hands warm as there is no water to chill against your skin.
Gauntlet goes places…
In the summer of 2013 Gauntlet was recommended to a professional high Altitude Mountaineer, his hands were very dry and cracked and he had concerns about being able to complete and expedition later that year. It turned out that Gauntlet had such results on his hands that he took it with him – to the South Pole!
