5 must-do courses this january

qi gong foundation: a 6 week course with Thalbert Allen
starts Monday 04th January, 6.15 – 7.15pm, camden
price: £75

Thalbert Allen is a former US marine with 20+ years’ experience teaching qi gong – and you really feel it in his teaching! As its title suggests, this course will introduce you to the ancient art of qi gong, a Chinese energy cultivation practice (like Tai Chi, but at the same time so very different). Qi gong integrates dynamic and static movement, deep breathing and visualisation techniques; each week you’ll find yourself stretching, exercising and meditating all in one go. This course is for all levels and you needn’t practised yoga or qi gong before attending.

Ideal for those: who feel they need to reground after a non-stop 2015, those who have attended a few qi gong classes and would like to know more and those looking for a gentle, meditative yet powerful practice to compliment regular yoga or Pilates classes.
