Location

Located in the heart of Umbria, near to the spectacular hilltop medieval town of Orvieto, The Locanda is ideal for a week of yoga, sun and relaxation, surrounded by natural beauty. The large garden has a large free-form swimming pool and is surrounded by open countryside. There is plenty of space to walk and be free. There is a lovely climate controlled yoga studio. There will be two yoga classes a day and each guest will have the opportunity to practise at his/her own level making the week suitable for students of different abilities. Three meals are served daily and there will be plenty of free time to relax, enjoy the views, swim, read, sleep, have treatments or explore the local villages and countryside.

All meals are cooked to an excellent standard using local produce, and cater for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian guests. And, on at least one evening, the pizza oven will be put to good use! If you have any special dietary requirements please notify us at the time of booking and we will do our best to accommodate these.

 There is a massage treatment room where a range of massage treatments are offered at very reasonable rates. Advance notice of interest is preferable and sessions should be booked at the beginning of the week. 

All bedrooms are en suite with shower, toilet and basin. Each room overlooks the gardens and has its own large wisteria clad terrace. Furnishings and fabrics complement the building and create a calm and comfortable environment. The farmhouse and the two cottages comfortably accommodate up to 20 students.

Yoga 

Each day begins with a two hour yoga class which reflects a particular teaching on yoga and includes alignment based instruction. The day ends with a restorative yoga class which includes breathing exercises and meditation.

About Anna

Anna Ashby has been studying and practising yoga for over 20 years and has been teaching since 1999. She holds the highest level of certification by the Yoga Alliance – the Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher 500 – and she also holds a B.A. in Modern Dance. The core of Anna’s yoga training and inspiration comes from many years of dedicated study and practice of Siddha Yoga Meditation™. Anna’s teaching style blends an appreciation for alignment with a real love of movement. She teaches with a steady, upbeat and methodical approach to asana practice that encourages introspection, contemplation as well as fun. Anna regularly leads retreats and trainings in the UK and is on the faculty of the triyoga teacher training programme.
