In the delightful and unspoilt hills north of Marbella, there’s a beautiful 14 bedroom Balinese styled yoga retreat, with a wonderful timbered yoga pavilion surrounded by tinkling water. It may all sound rather out of place for Spain, but it works extremely well. You can now fly short haul to sunny Andalusia instead of flying long haul to the far off Far East!Once you enter this exceptionally well crafted boutique residence, you step into another world. Its stylish and elegant design, high beamed ceilings, thatched roof-tops, water garden and assortment of giant Buddhas all create the feeling of being on another continent. It's wonderfully welcoming and instantly calming.
Nestling in its own little valley, surrounded by hills and open countryside, Shanti Som lets you escape the hustle and bustle of modern life and immerse yourself in all things healthy and peaceful. Yoga
Each day begins with a two hour yoga class which reflects a particular teaching on yoga and includes alignment based instruction. The day ends with a restorative yoga class which includes breathing exercises and meditation.Price

About Anna
Anna Ashby has been studying and practising yoga for over 20 years and has been teaching since 1999. She holds the highest level of certification by the Yoga Alliance – the Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher 500 – and she also holds a B.A. in Modern Dance. The core of Anna’s yoga training and inspiration comes from many years of dedicated study and practice of Siddha Yoga Meditation™. Anna’s teaching style blends an appreciation for alignment with a real love of movement. She teaches with a steady, upbeat and methodical approach to asana practice that encourages introspection, contemplation as well as fun. Anna regularly leads retreats and trainings in the UK and is on the faculty of the triyoga teacher training programme.
